Making a formal complaint should always be a last resort.

Try speaking to someone first, your issue may simply be a misunderstanding.

However, if all else has failed, please print and complete this form and post in the administrator's mail box.

Members may use the rinks whenever there is no match and rinks are not booked for competitions.

Matches

Mixed

There are now only mixed matches against local Clubs and those from further a field are usually played on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons.

Members wishing to play should enter their names on the team sheets displayed on the notice board. Tea and biscuits are usually provided during the afternoons but two-course meals may be provided when the teams travel a significant distance.

Booked or casual rinks are available for general play (roll-ups). For availability, message the Green Steward.

Matches

Men

Matches against visiting Clubs from Home Counties are usually played on Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday afternoons commencing at 14.00. These conclude with a 2- course meal and the fee to include the meal. Members wishing to play should enter their names on the team sheets displayed on the notice board.

Here are the rules that Preston Bowls Club adheres to as set in 2010.

Names and Objects

1. The name of the Club is “PRESTON BOWLS CLUB (BRIGHTON) LIMITED”. The objects are to maintain a Club for the accommodation of members, and to provide all the usual necessary privileges, advantages, conveniences and accommodation of a Club and otherwise as specified in the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Company.

2. The Club shall consist of Shareholders and Associate Members.

Different manufacturers produce bowls with different biases.

Please use this chart to help you decide which bowls to buy.

Remember larger bias bowls are a disadvantage if you're playing indoors.

The first thing to know is that the object is to deliver a bowl as close to the jack (the small yellow/white ball) as possible.  You need to know that all bowls have a bias, that is, they “bend” during flight, and that is where the skill comes in.
