August 2019 Draw

500 Club

The 500 club was launched in September 2006 to offer members the opportunity to enter a monthly cash draw. The entry cost is only £20 per year. Many members have more than one share in the club.

The draw is normally made electronically on the last Wednesday/Thursday of each month at lunch time, details are on the notice board. The only exception is December when the draw takes place at the same time as the Christmas raffle.

Each month there are cash prizes of £200, £100, £50 and £25.

The Christmas draw has bumper cash prizes of £500, £250, £125 and £50.

Outdoor Bowls

Members may use the rinks whenever there is no match and rinks are not booked for competitions.



There are now only mixed matches against local Clubs and those from further a field are usually played on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons.

Members wishing to play should enter their names on the team sheets displayed on the notice board. Tea and biscuits are usually provided during the afternoons but two-course meals may be provided when the teams travel a significant distance.

Indoor Bowls

Booked or casual rinks are available for general play (roll-ups). For availability speak to Green Steward.



Matches against visiting Clubs from Home Counties are usually played on Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday afternoons commencing at 14.00. These conclude with a 2- course meal and the fee to include the meal. Members wishing to play should enter their names on the team sheets displayed on the notice board.

  1. The new indoor season commences on Monday 23rd September.
  2. Our coaching courses start on Tuesday 8th and Saturday 12th October. Please sign up if you feel you need to brush up your skills. Do let your friends and family know too!
  3. The money for a high quality chute has been donated anonymously.

Club Rules

Here are the rules that Preston Bowls Club adheres to as set in 2010.

Names and Objects

1. The name of the Club is “PRESTON BOWLS CLUB (BRIGHTON) LIMITED”. The objects are to maintain a Club for the accommodation of members, and to provide all the usual necessary privileges, advantages, conveniences and accommodation of a Club and otherwise as specified in the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Company.

Constitution of Club

2. The Club shall consist of Shareholders and Associate Members.
